Jackson County Chamber launches community coffee chats for 20-year trategic plan

WILX News 10 | February 20, 2026

JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) -The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce held its first of many community coffee chats on Friday to help roll out its “Drive Jackson” Strategic Plan.

The 20-year plan includes measures to improve living, education, housing and economic opportunities and build a safer community.

Friday’s event allowed people a chance to learn about the plan. Leaders say it’s important to open up the conversation.

“Community has been the core of the strategic plan and it had to be like that,” said Alexie Milukhin, a research director focusing on population growth.

“You know, if this was something that was like random or we only relied on strictly data for, it wouldn’t be something that people see themselves in or want to connect to. And we have to have that in order for anything to happen with the plan.”

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will hold three more community coffee events starting next week. The first will be held in Brooklyn.
